Dr. G. R. Baranidharan, M.V.Sc, PhD, is a professor at Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) in Chennai, India, and Co-Founder and Senior Consultant at The Ark Veterinary Clinic. He obtained his veterinary degree, master’s degree, and PhD from Madras Veterinary College, TANUVAS. Dr. Baranidharan specializes in small animal transfusion medicine and hematology. He established one of the first structured canine blood banks in India and has contributed significantly to the development of blood component preparation and transfusion practices in dogs and cats. His research focuses on platelet disorders, thrombocytopenia, and canine blood group systems, including DEA 1.1. Dr. Baranidharan is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences and actively conducts workshops on clinical hematology and transfusion medicine.
