Dr. Etienne Côté, DVM, is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology and Small Animal Internal Medicine) and Professor in the Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University and completed residency training in both cardiology and small animal internal medicine in the United States. Dr. Côté has dedicated his career to clinical cardiology, teaching, and research, and has been actively involved in veterinary education since joining the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2003. He established the Cardiology Service at AVC and developed one of Canada’s few accredited residency training programs in veterinary cardiology. His scholarly work includes more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, with research focusing on cardiac diseases in dogs and cats. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Côté is internationally recognized for his leadership in veterinary medicine. He has delivered over 360 invited lectures in 18 countries and serves as co-editor of Ettinger’s Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, one of the most authoritative references in the field. His work continues to advance both clinical practice and veterinary education worldwide.
